2019 is upon us and that means another PGA Tour season is about to commence. I know, I know, that the season officially begins at the end of 2018 with the wrap-around schedule formatting but we all can agree that the countdown to Augusta National begins in Kapalua with the Sentry Tournament of Champions. In this article, I am going to give my predictions on how the four majors will play out, player of the year predictions, a rookie of the year watch, FedEx Cup Champion and a forecast on how I believe Tiger Woods’ season will go, after his historic win at East Lake to close out 2018.

I predict this almost every year but something always seems to go wrong to keep Dustin from not winning, although coming so close, so often. He has finished inside the Top 10 in every season since 2014, so something has to give for DJ. He is almost guaranteed a two victory season if he stays healthy and if one can be a major championship, it may be Dustin’s year.
So how will Tiger’s 2019 go after resurrecting his career in 2018? We all believe his season will begin at the end of January at a familiar venue in Torrey Pines, where he will look to build on last season’s momentum. As you can see above, I do not predict a major from Tiger in 2019, but if he does go winless I would be more surprised than if he would go on to win a major. Tiger’s schedule is fairly predictable so we can expect to see him in contention at Torrey Pines, Bay Hill and Muirfield Village and then sprinkling a few others, to go along with the Majors, WGCs and THE Players Championship of course. I will say I believe Tiger will win Jack’s tournament at The Memorial in 2019 and believe he will post two top-10s in majors during the year. This will probably be seen as a disappointment given the lofty standards for Woods, but overall I think it will be another productive campaign from Tiger.
Finally, as we are just hours away from professional golf returning in 2019, I would like to say that I think Patrick Reed will kick-off the new calendar year with a victory in 2019 at the Sentry Tournament of Champions as he prepares to defend his title at Augusta in a few months.
It should be another exciting season in the world of golf and I surely will have a more in depth look at the major championships when the springtime tradition rolls around at Augusta in early April.
Until next time,
